At RES, we are committed to fostering dynamic and engaging classroom environments and educational experiences that encourage children to inquire, explore, and acquire knowledge. Our students actively participate in the learning process, where they are encouraged to think critically, solve problems, ask thought-provoking questions, and recognize their significance as valued members of the RES community. Our goal is to provide a dynamic, challenging, and enriching education that nurtures the unique talents of each student, while promoting personal integrity, fostering intellectual curiosity, individual well-being, and instilling a sense of civic responsibility.
Our vision for the Redding Elementary School (RES) is to provide a collaborative environment where personalized learning is paramount for all stakeholders.

Our principal, Mrs. Labrosciano, became part of the RES community in January of 2022. Before assuming the role of building principal at RES, Mrs. Labrosciano held various positions that provided her with a wealth of knowledge and experience. She served as a building principal in Brookfield, an SRBI math specialist in Darien and worked as both a fourth-grade teacher and an instructional reading specialist in Stamford. All of these positions have been multifaceted and have led her to gain deep insight in curriculum, curriculum development, assessment and instruction, instructional leadership, and best practices.
Mrs. Labrosciano's qualifications include certifications in remedial reading and language arts, elementary education, and administration. She holds a dual master’s degree in special education and remedial reading from Manhattanville College, as well as a 6th-year degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Bridgeport. Currently, Mrs. Labrosciano is pursuing a doctoral degree in International Education. In 2024, she was awarded the title of Connecticut PTA Outstanding Elementary School Principal. In addition to Mrs. Labrosciano's professional accomplishments, she takes great pride in being a mother to two children: a high schooler and a middle schooler.
Throughout her years as an educator, Mrs. Labrosciano has come to understand that successful student outcomes are rooted in positive relationships. Those relationships need to be grounded in trust, respect, and collaboration. As the Principal of Redding Elementary School, her primary goal is to create a loving and safe environment where staff, families, and students are valued. Mrs. Labrosciano envisions RES as a place where the entire community feels emotionally, socially, and academically supported.
Mrs. Kim Roy, an experienced educator, has dedicated many years to various roles in the field. Throughout her career, she has taught students from 1st to 3rd grade, worked as a Reading Recovery Teacher, and transitioned into the role of a Math Coach and Teacher Leader at a PK-2 school. Following this, she served as an Assistant Principal for five years at a 3-6 school in Winchester, CT. In the academic year 2022-2023, Mrs. Roy joined Redding Elementary School as the Assistant Principal for grades PK-4.
Her work as an Assistant Principal within the Winchester School System garnered national recognition in Principal Magazine through a show and tell article in 2022. As a testament to her commitment to professional development, Mrs. Roy is a member of NAESP (National Association of Elementary School Principals). She holds certifications in Elementary Education and has earned an 092 Administrative Certification and a 6th year degree in Educational Leadership from Sacred Heart University.
Mrs. Roy firmly believes that creating strong connections with students and displaying genuine care are pivotal in nurturing motivation. This core belief has greatly influenced her educational philosophy, emphasizing the importance of students feeling emotionally secure in order to take academic risks.
On a personal note, Mrs. Roy takes immense pride in her own children, both of whom are currently pursuing Bachelor’s degrees in marketing.
